Description I'm sick of seeing pieces related to Nihongami the Japanese traditional hair style such as Samurai, Geisha, Geiko, Maiko, that are visually and structurally incorrect.
I made this tutorial, so please study and make it correctly.

I covered all the important basics, and some variations.
There might be some mistakes in the year established or people who use the hair style, but hair style itself is correct.

Please study if you want to make historically correct piece. Thanks.

wow I've been looking for something like this..as kind of an evidence that actual historically correct samurai indeed wore their hair unshaved and just tied up like shown in modern pop culture in games, movies, manga etc.. and the name for it is just "Chasen-Mage Sohatsu"-Style. Thanks alot. I believe you have reliable sources!

I also recognise this hairstyle from jidaigeki set in the Warring States period

Thank you very much! It is quite hard for western poeple to come by literature showing original style that would withstand art-historical scrutiny.
Just knowing the names of the styles is quite helpful!
