Description
This is a shot from another project I'm working on. I cant even begin to describe the scene, so just assume the doctor revealed something to Ditzy, and she is quite happy about it.Will post the page when it's finished, but for now, i kinda like the way this turned out so here it is. Will have to change the background though.
I only like shipping when it makes sense. When there is at least a bit of hope between the two. The doctor usually goes for the clever girls, (when he goes for them at all- [hes complicated]) but what (in my fan belief anyway) Ditzy makes up for it with heart.

after a long hunt after derpy after whooves accidentally said something behind her back that weren't to smart, they end up on a cliff, and derpy is so hurt that she decides to take her own life. she falls in, and whooves jumps after her
"listen derpy, i know what i said was stupid, but i only said it because... well because... i lo..." he couldn't say anymore as derpy was kissing him passionately, and tears come up in her eyes.
"you stupid, stupid doctor." she says as she smiled and embraced her beloved stallion in a passionate hug. she spread her wings, and fly them both down to safetl. they land in a tree filled with sakura flowers.
"well turns out we came safe out of that one" hooves said a little ironic, and gasp's when derpy knocks him over and they starts to kiss, as the petals are dazzling down on them, and filter into their manes, as they roll around on the ground. hooves tastes the sweet muffins in derpy's mouth, and derpy can feel the soft lips of the doctor, and his firm hooves caressing her body. they proceed to make love to each other. afterwards derpy falls asleep. whooves is tired as well, but he must gaze upon his beautiful derpy once more. she was in her arms and he never wanted to let her go

For that, Ill give you a hint about what the scene is about. It is not a confession, or apology the doctor is saying. It is more of revelation for them both.
The doctor has a connection with ditzy, even before she ever met him...

do you mean the kind of connection between the mane six and the sonic rainboom or is it something more far out?

More far out, but the connection with the mane six is small, and the doc's got nothing to do with the sonic rainboom. It's mostly just Ditzy.
We'll find out more when the Lift of Ditzy is finished.

Ditzy Doo is Derpy Hooves. Derpy Hooves is her nickname but her actual name is Ditzy Doo (taken directly from the show... sort of)
Dinky Doo is her daughter, the small light Pink unicorn.
In my fanon, Sparkler, an older rouge colored unicorn becomes Ditzy's adopted daughter.
Thats the whole family, until she marries the doctor.

As for what he's saying, your probably right, but there is more meaning behind it if you can believe it. More than just love anyway.
I don't think I saw a Pegasus carry another pony while flying, and if they did it wasn't far. I've seen 2 pegasi do it.
