Kankri x reader part 6~~~Kankri's POV~~~
I took the rest of the bags from _____ and entered her house. It was not a very large home but it felt cozy and welcoming. I entered what seemed like the kitchen and settled the bags on the counter. I herd the two take _____'s father up the stairs. I left the kitchen to see if I could help them but they were already up the stairs. Not really knowing what to do and feeling a bit awkward I returned to the kitchen. I herd _____ and the man talking as they came back down the steps. "Thank you for bringing him here and looking after him. I should be able to take care of it from here on out." The man chuckled. "I'm sure you will. And this time you have your boyfriend to help with that!" I grew wide eyed at the statement. Did we really look like matesprites? "He's not my boy friend! We're just friends!" _____ protested. Oh if you only knew how I felt about you, _____. The man chuckled again. "For now." He teased. The door closed as I peeked out of the kitchen. _____ was just standing there looking at the door. Her face was flushed but seemed to be going back to normal as the seconds passed. "Is something the matter _____?" I asked as a minute passed. I figured that it would be best if I pretended to not have overheard their conversation. She turned to face me and gave a slightly worried smile. "No, it's nothing Kankri. Don't worry about it." Her face was still a but red. The blush still lingering on her cheeks. She let out a nervous laugh "Sooo can I get you something to drink?" I accepted her offer thinking that it might help lighten the mood a little and hopefully some of her nervousness. She walked into the kitchen and I fallowed. "I'm sorry that you had to witness that Kankri. My father really isn't like this normally." She spoke while filling a glass with water. I nodded as _____ handed said glass to me. "I guess it's not a bad thing that he can't hold his liqueur. If he could then we would probably loose a lot of money from him doing that." She gave a nerves laugh. "Dose this happen often?"
"If by often you mean every time he goes out drinking then yes. Almost every time. But he dose not go out much in the first place. Possibly 3 times a year? Once for his birthday a second for my mother's birthday and the third would be when his coworkers invite him out. They try not to do so very often because they know that I'm here and every thing." I nodded my he head. What she just said got me thinking. Typically in a normal human family there is a mother, a father and at least one child. So we have _____ and her father but what about her mother? Although she could have a family similar to John's or Rose's family. Truthfully there can hundreds of reasons why ______ has never spoken about her mother. "Earth to Kankri. Do you have a visual of our planet?" ______ spoke, bringing me out of a semi-confusing train of though. "E-excuse me?"
"You are excused."
"No, wait, that's not what I meant-”
"Yeah I know." I sigh
"______ it is very triggering to interrupt someone."
"It is also triggering for you to zone out on people and not listen when they are trying to have a conversation with you." She countered with a bit of sass.
"Oh, uh, I'm s-sorry" she smiled once again,
"Apology accepted! Now what do you want to do? We could watch a bit of TV, play a card game, continue talking?" Well I guess it couldn't hurt to stay for a little longer, "If you don't mind can we continue talking?"
"Sure! As long as you don't zone out on me again" she said with a sly smile. I chuckled, "I promise I won't zone out again."
"Good"
And so the conversation continued. Time passed and it became time for me to get back to the apartment. Although I was reluctant to leave I knew I would see ______ again in school. Saying goodnight I left her house and began tracing my steps back to the apartment.
