this was so fun though, and i came up with a backstory for this pretty boy

‘Chromis is a Seawing prince who spends his days out on the water with his crew and his ship, The Mighty Whalee.
When he was younger he was going through the treasury in his family’s palace.
As he searched in the piles of gold and silver, he spotted a ring with a large ruby in the middle. It was just what he’d been looking for.
Chromis picked up the ring, and as he looked at it, he made a silent wish.
‘I never want to leave my ship again.’
The ring illuminated, and seemed to magnetize itself to his talons, cutting through his webbing.
His wings seemed to go stiff, and as they did so, the ends slowly just…dissolved, making it impossible for him to ever fly again.
Now he roams the seas wherever he wishes, that blasted ruby ring clinging onto his talon.’
