We all know the world’s not pretty,We all know the world’s not fair,
There’s another girl in another city,
She’s got too many things to fear.
She doesn’t want to share her troubles
With the people she’s passing by.
And with every step she’s taking,
She’s getting a little closer to goodbye.
And if all this does is give you
A little time to think
Or takes a few moments away
And if all you do is stop
And down another drink
There’s really no need to be afraid.
We all know the world’s not pretty,
We all know the world’s no fun,
We’re still trying to get out of the city
Still trying to find the sun.
We all know the world gets angry,
We all know the world’s afraid,
And there’s other ways to live
