Description
Today is the 76th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad's beginning. Once a city known for it's heavy industry and the honor of being named after the Soviet Premier himself, the city of Stalingrad would bear the brunt of the longest and bloodiest engagement of the Second World War, with an estimated 2.2 million dead over a period of 5 months. The battle would end in a Soviet victory, turning the tide of war against Germany and spelling the beginning of the end for the Third Reich.
