My first thought was 'what amazing scenery' but then I read the title again and realised the 'thought' behind the image and felt an overwhelming sadness... There's not many photos that make me feel nowadays, but this one did.

ooo, you know how you say jawdropping and just say it because its good but my jaw did drop a little when i saw it in full, superb photograph very emotive photo, love the sky and the 'curve' is superb

wow. the sky is sooo powerful in this! i love how small the person looks in comparison to it and the sea.
this ending doesn't seem to be a happy one. it kinda reminds me of a scene in The Awakening.

i've always thought b&w sky and landscape shots took extra talent given the usual catch of the colours of the sky

I've had this photo open for ages and I keep flicking back to it to try and comment but I have too much to say to actually say it all.....oh dear....I don't think that makes any sense
I absolutely love this photo.....it has such an amazingly dramatic atmosphere about it....
The clouds are incredible, there are the almost pure black clouds at the top of the photo and the amazingly bright clouds coming through as well.....and they're all swirly and puffy and straight and just fantastic....
The waves are also fantastic....and the distortion of the horizon and the lines of the sand and the sea just finishes this whole piece off......perfection in a photo

I do wish that is such a still, static shot (of course the atmosphere is far from being still) - the horizon would not be tilted. It's kind of confusing... or was that part of your point?
