Description                                            SILENCE

One Saturday, I was surfing the internet due to complete boredom.  I was mainly looking for games on gaming sites, like “addictinggames.com” and such.  After about 20 minutes, I found a community gaming site where people of the community could post user-created games.  I found this kind of cool so I searched the page for anything interesting.  I found a game that looked promising and downloaded it.  It was pretty good so I looked for other games from this site.  I was pretty impressed at some of the material from the users of this site, so I made an account on the website and subscribed to their mail content, so I can get a notice every time a user makes a new game or when the site posts a game of the month.
After about a week, I made about 5 friends on the site and we post discussions and such together.  After about another month, one of my friends sent me a comment saying that they found a game that they really wanted to try, but that their computer couldn’t access the game file due to compatibility problems, driver settings, etc.  In the comment, he asked me to see if I could play the game on my computer and to tell him how the game is and if it’s worth changing settings and downloading drivers to play.  He included a link to the download page.  I replied to the comment saying “kk I’ll try to and send u my feedback as soon as I finish it
I clicked the link and it took me to the page where the user posts screenshots and descriptions and such about the game.  Where the title of the game was supposed to be, it said “UNTITLED”. I was guessing it was some kind of troll or horror game, but decided to give it a try. All the description said was “CAN YOU FIND ME?”  Yep, definitely a horror game.  There were no screenshots of game play, so I had no idea what the game looked like.  The game was a decent size, it was like 35 megabytes or something like that, so it didn’t take long to download; plus I have a really good computer, so it wouldn’t have taken long anyway.
I downloaded the file and it made a shortcut on my desktop.  I clicked it and had no problem loading it.  The loading screen was just a white meter filling up against a black background.  When it finished, the word “Hello” popped up and it had a text box underneath it so I could enter text in it.  I typed in “Hello” and waited for about 3 seconds before some more text popped up.  It read “Do you want to play this game?”  I typed in “yes.”  After 3 more seconds it read “Are you sure?”  This is like I’m Scared: A Pixelated Nightmare I thought to myself.  I typed in “Yes I am” After 3 more seconds, the screen read “Ok, just making sure, consider it a warning…” Ok, a talking video game, not creepy at all… I thought, getting kind of creeped out.  I tried typing something in but it didn’t let me.  After a while the screen said “Make sure to wear headphones or ear buds for the full experience, the game will begin shortly.”  I waited for what seemed about 30 seconds until the game finally loaded.
It was in a first-person viewpoint and I was spawned in an empty road in an empty city.  There was no HUD or objectives on the screen.  It was dark except for street lights.  The graphics were 8-bit like Mario, kind of like LSD: Dream Emulator, but they reminded me of Minecraft.  I started walking with the W, A, S, D keys and noticed that there was no sound playing from my headphones.  I windowed the game screen and checked my volume settings; they were working perfectly.  I put the game on full screen and left my headphones on.  I started walking in-game and started to explore the empty streets of the empty city.  It was pretty uncomfortable exploring with no sound and at night.  I was wondering what the point of wearing headphones was when I suddenly heard wind coming from the game.  I guessed it was rendering the in-game sound or something.  It was still equally creepy, hearing nothing but wind.
What was I going to tell my friend? It had Mario-style graphics but there was nothing to do but walk around and get scared by hearing wind?  I decided to walk around some more and see if I triggered any hidden events or something.  After about a half hour, I came across a really long road and started walking along it.  But the longer I walked for, the more the render distance shrank.  By the time the render distance stopped shrinking, I could only see a short distance ahead of me.  I kept walking like this until I heard a dripping sound; it sounded like water dripping into a sink.  What the hell? I thought.  I noticed that every time I took a step, the dripping grew louder.  After a while, the sound was so loud I had to take off my headphones; and I could still hear it even then.  I kept walking and getting really uncomfortable and creeped out.
Then I stopped in front of a house and I couldn’t hear the dripping anymore.  I put my headphones back on, hearing nothing from the game.  I clicked on the door and it opened without animation.  I walked inside, it was dark.  I walked around for about 2 minutes then heard a door slam shut.  I didn’t want to turn around; I just stood there, fearing the moment I had to move my character.  I finally grew some balls and slowly inched the mouse to turn the character.  There was nothing behind me, I sighed in relief.  “Good.” I said out loud.  Just then, the camera jerked to the side and I was looking down a corridor and at the end of it was a…I had no idea what it was.  It was a tall, cloaked figure that kept changing color; let’s just say it had a high chance of causing seizures.  But the sounds were even worse; there was a really loud pulsing sound and equally loud voices whispering something.  It sounded like “you found me” if I listened closely.  I was really scared by not just the sprite, but the sounds.  My heart was beating really fast, I don’t know why.  I tried exiting the game but with no luck.
I unplugged my computer and my screen went black, and there was no sound anymore.  I was shaking.  Just then, the word “Hello” appeared on my screen in white print. My PC was clearly unplugged so I had no idea why text was being added onto my screen.  The answer box appeared and I typed in “Hi.”  After 3 seconds text appeared saying,”You found me.”  The text stayed on the screen for about 10 seconds before the screen went back to my desktop. (Note that my computer was still unplugged.)
I took off my headphones and decided to let my friend know that the game is pretty disturbing.  But right when I took off my headphones, the game turned itself on again and spawned me at the dark house again.  I heard a door slam shut and heard the whisper of “You found me” over and over again at an incredibly high volume.  This cycle continued for about a minute and was really scaring the shit out of me.  I had no idea how to turn the game off.  My PC was unplugged, the escape key didn’t work, nothing was happening!  I was going nuts!  I wasn’t even scared anymore; I just wanted the noise to stop!  I punched the desk my computer was on and yelled at the top of my lungs, “Shut the fuck up!!”
When I said that, the noise stopped, but the game was still on.  I was breathing heavily, but started to calm down a bit.  After a few seconds, the screen went black and text appeared on my screen in white print.  The text read “Hello.”  Fuck this game I thought.  I typed in “hi.”  More text appeared saying, “Why do you scream?”  I typed in “Leave me alone.”  After that, my screen shut off completely.  I had no idea what this game was, but it was the freakiest shit I ever played.  I sighed and plugged in my computer.  As my desktop showed up, I heard a door slam come from my headphones.  It made me jump a little.  I shrugged it off thinking it was my imagination.  I went on the gaming site and messaged my friend saying “dude, that game was the craziest shit I ever played, don’t even try to play it, it’ll give u freaking nightmares.”  My friend messaged me back saying stuff like, “ok thanx” and stuff.  I went to my games folder on my desktop and went to delete the game.  I deleted it and went to the download link my friend gave me to see who the developer of the game was.  Where the developer’s name was supposed to be, there was a frowning emoticon.  I clicked on it, but it gave me a 404 error.  I went back to my folder and found that the game was still on my desktop.  I tried deleting it but it didn’t let me; a message kept popping up saying “action not available.”
After a few more tries, my screen went black and white text appeared saying “You found me, NOW I’M HERE TO STAY.”
