view the video here: [link]This is my first attempt at a modular building, i can arrange the pieces in many different variations and sizes, also if i feel obliged i can add modular pieces as per requests
-took me about 6 hours from very start to the preview animation rendering:
30 minutes - to figure out how to create a modular building
30 minutes - modeling
.5 - 1 hour - unwrap
1 hour - texturing
1 hour - optimize/place pieces
30 minutes - generate norm/spec/AO/diff and apply
-but now with these pieces if i had to make a new building on the same block it would take me about 30 minutes to complete
-my workflow consisted of:
TexRipper
3ds Max
Photoshop
Crazy Bump
3Point Shader Lite
-3,677 poly's
-the model consists of 2 texture sheets, 1 for the modular pieces and 1 for the misc pieces, both are 1024, textures are very basic as texturing is not my forte or focus
-i used 3point Shader Lite to display the model and grabbed a viewport animation
-i used TexRipper to grab the textures for the building

-i used crazybump to convert the diffuse to a normal, spec, AO, and to also color correct the diffuse
