I, Miguel am an upcoming actor looking for work anywhere I can find it. I’ve been praised by hundreds for my phenomenal acting skills however they say I won’t make it big because I’m too small and weak. I’m a thinner boy with “feminine features.” I personally don’t see it but that’s what people say. Recently I have auditioned for a movie called “vida”. I auditioned for the lead male role as the love interest but was turned down shortly after. Disappointed I moved on in search for work.

About three weeks later the producers called me and said that they have the perfect opportunity for me. I called my Agent and broke the news. Excited We rushed to set to see what my new role would be. When We arrived they broke the news to me.

“Miguel, you are a wonderful actor, your skills are phenomenal. That’s why we think you’d be perfect for the role of lyn. Not only can you adapt to act for the role but you also look exactly like the character!” The producers said.

I was stunned, my mouth hung open as I blankly stared. “They want me to play… the lead female protagonist?” I thought to myself. Before I could speak up my agent stood up and shook their hands.

“We’d be happy to take the role!” He said gladly.

I was put into even more shock as my eyes widened. “What?!” I shouted in my head. Before I could do anything the producers shook my hand and walked off, leaving me and my agent alone.

“What the fuck are you doing!” I said through my teeth.

“Miguel, you don’t have any jobs right now and your are going bankrupt! This is your only chance and your going to blow it?” He said back to me. I thought about what he said and I realized… he was right, this is my only opportunity.

The next day we arrived 5 hours early to get me ready for the role. The producers introduced me to all of the hair and makeup and set designers and left me to get ready. They stripped me of my clothes and waxed my entire body. They weaved long strands of curly highlighted hair into my hair giving me a beautiful flowing head of hair. They moved onto my face, bartering me up with all kinds of powders and liquids and colors. I was starting to actually look like a girl! They moved onto my clothing, in this particular scene Lyn would be wearing a flowing floral dress and 5 inch high heeled boots. So, I was dressed in just that. When I was finished they wrapped a black choker around my neck and handed me a purse. I shuddered and began to take my first steps as Lyn. I immediately tripped on the heels which prompted for all of the makeup team to help me up. It was humiliating.

I had to film for several hours with my costar and spent the entire rest of the day trying my best to be feminine. It worked, after three days the producers told me that I was doing a fabulous job! Hopefully they’ll put in a good word for me after.
