| HISTORY |

Acacia grew up as an only child in the desert city of Barcroft Town. As a child she played with the other kids joining in the normal pursuits of climbing in and out of the canyons nearby and trying to tag the local mudbrays without getting kicked. However, when she was 12 Acacia had a run in with a cruel Zephyr member who thought it would be funny to convince the young girl to try to capture an egg from the edge of the Zeppeli Desert. Assuring Acacia that they would watch out for her they waited until Acacia was sneaking up on a sandshrew colony before releasing their own pokemon to attack it. When Acacia called out for help while trying to escape the irate sandshrew, the Zephyr grunt simply laughed. If it wasn't for the townsfolk hearing her panicked cries she might not have survived the ordeal. As it is, she has scars up and down her arms from the claws of the desert pokemon.

After this event she lost her trust in people. She found herself trusting the nurses less and less when they treated her wounds saying that the wounds wouldn't scar, the antibiotics would taste good, that this or that wouldn't hurt. Her parents urged her to become distrustful of all strangers and they themselves became suspicious of all non-natives. Initially Acacia was fearful of every new face but as she grew she eventually just became apathetic and simply didn't trust anyone outside of her family and a few close friends. She also stopped playing with the other kids in town, afraid of what other pokemon out there might do to her if she climbed the wrong ledge in the canyons. She retreated to libraries and the books that she believed couldn't lie to her. She made friends with her highschool librarians and from them started to learn how to be friendly as a defense against strangers.

Acacia discovered in her senior year that she enjoyed learning about pokemon and their habitats and ecosystems. She decided to turn that into a kind of career, perhaps becoming a professor of Pokecology or a researcher. She applied for and was accepted at Oakhart University where she spent her first two years of schooling studying as much as possible. Now she is entering her third and final year and needs to do a few months of field work for her thesis. This means getting out into the Issho region and seeing where pokemon live in the wild. She plans on writing her paper on the effects trainers have on recently captured pokemon and the effects on pokemon recently released back into the wild.

Acacia is nervous about being so close to untrained pokemon but is also excited to be starting the next chapter of her life. The best way to accomplish her goals in seeing the widest set of pokemon possible is to take on the league challenge. This means having her own pokemon to protect her and traveling all over the region!

*Acacia has no athletic ability short of climbing the ladders in her college library and balancing tall stacks of research material. Because she sometimes has to do both of these things at once she has developed an excellent sense of balance.

*Because she hardly ever leaves her college she has no stamina and is genuinely worried about how she will travel.

*Her favorite food is lime gelatin with diced berries, purely because it is so difficult to find at home. She associates it with her mother who would make it on special occasions.

*Loves water types! Anything to do with water and the color aqua will make her smile.

*One of Acacia's lifelong dreams is to swim in the ocean. She does in fact know how to swim thanks to her folks teaching her in the local oasis.
