Not at all- it's a peace offering. That's what Peach does in subspace: she convinces people to fight in her stead rather then fight them herself. In my book, she is just about the biggest badass in subspace.

Plus... In Smash Bros. every character holds their multiple incarnations... Like Link having a Fairy companion (that is show in Subspace Emissary and in one of his Taunts) and not Midna (since his design is from Twilight Princess)...
Or take Snake, for example... Solid Snake never had THAT beard in any Metal Gear Solid Game... Naked Snake used that beard in Metal Gear Snake Eater... This makes you suggest that the Snake in SSBB is a universal Snake, a combination of his multiple selves... XP
