Description
Back in the days of the Mayans, they believed things that our culture would consider deformities to actually be marks of beauty or signs of power. They'd tie boards to the front and back of a baby's soft head to flatten and elongate it. They'd hang a bead from a lock of a young girl's hair, so she'd stare at it and go cross-eyed. They'd slice their fingers down the middle, and let them heal into extra fingers. It wasn't uncommon for those who held the most power to have 8 fingers on a hand. They also made a hell of a paint, and when a building of the temple was 'blessed' a priest would soak his hands in paint, then put his hand print on the building. I find it amazing that 200-300 years later, those prints can still be seen on the buildings. Its an awe inspiring experience to place your hand over that mark.
