...what everything means is that the shield is divided into four quarters in straight lines, with the top left quarter being maroon, the top right quarter in a black and white pattern meant to indicate a fur, the bottom left quarter is silver, and the bottom right quarter is blue. The 'charge sub-ordinary fret in pupure' is the knot-like symbol in purple. The motto means "Courage, determination and virtue".
Meanings:
Sanguine (maroon) -- patience in battle, and yet victorious
Ermine -- no real meaning, however, ermine fur was prestigious and highly valuable in ancient times
Argent (silver) -- peace and sincerity
Azure (blue) -- truth and loyalty
Purpure (purple) -- royal majesty, sovereignty, and justice
