Journal Entry #1

Hey this is Ash, and I was told to keep this journal while I’m here as an apprentice, but I guess I should back up first. See a few days ago, me and my friends; Brock and Misty, showed up in Celadon City for my next gym battle. Along the way we stopped at a perfume store, bleck, and apparently speaking my mind isn’t allowed! So what! Perfume smells terrible, plus how was I supposed to know the gym leader tan that shop?!

I still can’t believe what I did, I teamed up with Team Rocket to sneak into the gym dressed as a girl, I thought it was foolproof, it was not. I was quickly outed, and Team Rocket was quickly found before they could do anything. But there was suddenly a problem, not only was I not supposed to be in the gym, but I also helped criminals get in, apparently that could be really bad for me. But the gym leader, Lady Erika, she gave me a choice, face the consequences of my actions, or become her student for a year.

Brock and Misty said that being a student under an experienced gym leader like Erika would be highly beneficial, and when I talked to Professor Oak about it, he agreed. Even though it meant I wouldn’t be able to compete in the Indigo League, I’d be leagues ahead of other trainers my age. So I took Erika up on her offer, err sorry Lady Erika, that’s what all the ladies at the gym call her, and she asked me to call her that, Miss Erika, or teacher, I still have to get used to it. I said goodbye to Brock and Misty as they would be going on without me, and Lady Erika gave me a room to stay in, it’s not much, but she said I’d be using this room for sleep, and study. At least I don’t have to wear a dress to get into the gym. But I should be going, my first lesson starts soon.
