Many years ago, at the end of World War II, an expedition led by Howard Stark found the All Spark in Crown Tundra. Howard, using the power of All Spark, created the first Arc Reactor. The All Spark had fallen on Crown Tundra after it was successfully launched into space by the Autobots.

When the Autobots lost the war against the Decepticons in Cybetron, it was decided that all remaining Autobots would escape Cybertron to go find the All Spark, hoping to use it to free Cybertron from the Decepticon tyranny. For many years, the Autobots had been searching the universe for the All Spark... but when hopes of finding the All Spark were fading, a communiqué reached Optimus Prime and the rest of his team...

The All Spark had been located by Bumblebee on Earth.

However, the Autobots were not the only ones to learn about the location of the All Spark. Soundwave had intercepted the communication and informed Megatron of the All Spark's location.

The first Decepticons to arrive to Earth were a team formed by Blackout, Wreckage, Barricade, Dreadwing, and Incinerator.

One thing the Decepticon team didn't know, however, was that their arrival had been spotted by the Watchtower, one of the Justice Avengers' headquarters.

When the Autobots arrived, their arrival was also spotted by the Watchtower. One of the Autobots landed near Metropolis, this one being intercepted by Superman. The Autobot that had been intercepted was Optimus Prime.

Superman managed to convince Optimus that he didn't want to fight with him and all he wanted were answers. One of the answers that the last son of Krypton wanted was to know why the Autobots had come to Earth. An answer that the rest of Justice Avengers wanted to know.

Thanks to a quick investigation before arriving to Earth, Optimus and the rest of the Autobots would know about the Justice Avengers, Optimus would know that the only way to find the All Spark quickly and safely before the Decepticons did was to work alongside the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
