I just have one thing though. I think it would work better if the paper inside the bottle was the same as the one being read? I just keep noticing that the paper in the bottle isn't burned while the one read is

Yeah I know ... but the problem is:
I thought that just a plain paper with the words is kinda boring, so I burnt the edges. And I couldn't open the bottle (it's glued), so there was no chance to exchange the paper.

nice concept, but it would be more effective if it was all in one, rather than two separate ones. Maybe have the message laying next to the uncorked bottle, or roll it up with the letters showing in the bottle.
