A gift for my mother, who is a certified black belt in the fine art of Statement Necklaces. The heavier, splashier, more colorful, and possibly dangerous the piece, the better. Possibly like frill-necked lizards who warn off enemies with their bling?
This is fairly mild on the necklace-as-personal-defense scale, but it constituted my first polymer clay donut, my first wire-wrapped anything, and really my first full-on hardware-using jewelry piece. So... success?
