My MLP:FiM next gen.Princess Twilight Sparkle takes her son Starlight Ray to School for Gifted Unicorns. Amber Earring - daughter of Rarity - is also there.
Starlight Ray grew up as a clever, good-mannered colt, but also a bit lacking in self-confidence. The rank of a prince gives him many worries, since in his opinion he must correspond to such high position, not to shame himself in front of Equestria's high soceity and never let his parents Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry down. On the other hoof "Starlay" (nickname, given to him by Pinkie Pie's son) wishes to follow his mother's example and stay close to common ponies.
Starlight Ray is familiar with other Mane6 offsprings, although the level of relationship varies. Starlight doesn't get along very well with a bit cold, straightforward and sometimes stern Rainfall - daughter of Rainbow Dash. His best friend is dreamy, sweet-tempered Amber Earring, and he is always puzzled about how can it be that Rainfall and Amber are very close firends, in spite of their almost opposite personalities.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: Okay, little one, this is your first school day. Here, I bought these two additional spellbook textbooks - I had such books myself when I was a filly, but these are the newest editions, with the latest corrections and additions, approved by Educational Council of Canterlot Academy of Magic Science!
STARLIGHT RAY: Thanks, mom! I'll do my best in classes.
AMBER EARRING: Hi, Starlight, Princess Twilight!
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: (smiles) Hello, Amber. Ready for study too?
AMBER EARRING: I am! Oh, may I ask, why aren't you wearing your crown? Or royal mantle?
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: I don't find it necessary to carry regalias all the time.
AMBER EARRING: But you are the princess!
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: I'm still a pony like any other. Alright go, kids, or you'll be late (kisses Starlight Ray's forehead) Behave prettily.
AMBER EARRING: Come on! (grabs Ray's hand and runs to the school)
RARITY: (approaches Twilight) Can you imagine, how fast the time slips along, Twilight?
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: Indeed. (brushes the tear away) Still can't believe, they took him to school one year earlier. I was so nervous when Starlight Ray was passing his entrance exam!
RARITY: I remember, darling. You looked very... anxious... or... (pauses for a second, then coughs) hmm... how to put it... remember that day, you couldn't find a material for another friendship report?
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: (gloomy) Yes, thanks for reminding... but they accepted him! Yesyesyesyes! (squeaks happily)
RARITY: No wonder, Starlight Ray is a talented little colt. However (smiles) do you really think, the commission could reject son of a princess? Anyway, nevermind, Twilight darling. Let's go take two cups of coffee.
P.S. You may ask, why do the kids hold flowers. I don't know much about customs of other countires, but September 1st (beginning of a school day) is called Knowledge Day in Russia, and it is a tradition to present flowers to teachers.

Huh, I have never heard of Knowledge Day, oddly enough. But it sounds similar to what my school has- "Teacher Appreciation Week."

As far as I know, this Day appeared in USSR, it is dedicated to both teachers and students. Includes such traditions as Principal's speech, small concert, "First Bell" (The student of the 11th class carries on his shoulder a student of the 1st class, who rings into a bell) and other stuff.

There were single times, but i know how difficult are toes to draw, so many atists try to hidden them
