Before the creation of the world, there was a being called Cipacltli, a large creature half fish and half crocodile full of mouths all over its body; it was known as the devourer of the gods. Although the size of the creature is not known, it is thought to be a being larger than the planet. His name is also that of the first day of the aztec sacred calendar, the Tonalpohualli.
