Azazel is one of the Deity like figures of Xarveidore.

He used his life magic to create the Xanos species. It wasn’t easy, as he’d never done it previously and was only going off what he knew of himself and Eva. Shaping the Xanos to look like the two. It took him a long time to make one. But eventually he learned all he needed and moved forward with the rest of the species. He transformed Eva’s dark creatures into the first born Xanos.

This doesn’t apply to the Originals, as they were made from pure magic and parts of Azazel. To which he can regenerate, but it takes a lot out of him and it takes a lot of time for him to recover.

Azazel and Eva are not actually Deities. They just possess extreme power. Neither need to sustain themselves on basic things like food and water. Azazel draws power from life and light. While Eva gets hers from death and darkness.

Azazel’s “wings” aren’t quite that. They gather and store his magic, the bigger they are (they have a max size) the more magic he has. Azazel can use his wings as extra limbs in a way. He can form slender feelers with them and he can branch those feelers out like roots. He can move each individual “root” like you would your fingers. It doesn’t end there, he typically uses these “roots” to check on anyone in front of him, when they touch someone, they can slide under the skin and feel all around the inner workings of a Xanos. And yes, the Xanos would feel every movement inside them.

He doesn’t usually do this anymore, it was mainly used in earlier days of the species existence, to check up on his new creation, make sure everything was working properly and that the Xanos were healthy. He can tell everything about a Xanos doing this, their age, their health, if they’re cursed, etc…

He can also hide his wings, which will form more patterns on his back

The Xanos have 2 types of shifting forms, one much easier than the other.

The first and obvious by now, is shifting to their human forms and back. It’s the hardest one for a Xanos to use and learn.

The other is a more natural shift. You see, Xanos on all four legs lock them at the side, like canines. When the sit up, their upper body will shift, to alter their arms and paws to a more human movement. More experienced Xanos can use this shifting even when they’re on all fours, it requires quite a bit of focus and energy to do it though.
