Story: Dozens of the strongest fighters in the world have received an invitation to travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in a secret, clandestine, no-holds barred, elimination-style martial arts fighting tournament called the Fearsome International Smackdown Tournament, or F.I.S.T. for short. They arrive at an old, large, abandoned warehouse where they meet the tournament's host, a man who only identifies himself as 'Mr. Smith'. Mr. Smith, who is apparently well-connected with a lot of resources, tells them that the winner will be recognized as the best fighter in the world and receive a hefty cash prize. The warehouse will play host to the qualifying matches with only 10 people actually participating. After the qualifiers, ten powerful fighters remain:
