Description
10 years ago, a Mysterian known as Chiya Flower would meet the mysterious Lieutenant Seppuku in what would lead to the largest F-Zero fan fiction, as well as one of the largest Nintendo fan fictions.I can officially call F-Zero: Seppuku over a decade old, and much has changed. When I first uploaded Lap 1 of the story, I was 16 and living in a village of only a thousand-some people. Those years leading to 2015, F-Zero: Seppuku became my favorite hobby to draw and write for, and even led to our own little writing community called the Siontix Realm. It would be mendacious of me to say that the story has aged well for me; I know F-Zero: Seppuku holds up well enough with many still reading it even today, but for me personally, it really has become something of a time capsule for me. F-Zero: Seppuku, ultimately, was written from the age of 16 to 19, and with it, features a lot of the values, ideologies, and opinions attached to my teenage years. To put it plainly: F-Zero: Seppuku is kind of cringe. Compared to my current works, EngelReise and Shrouded Piety, F-Zero: Seppuku is what I would describe as a very naïve but nonetheless spectacular work that I still cherish and even promote today. Even to this day, I am still fixing cracks--that is to say, mistakes--with the saga and definitely still planning to modernize the language used in the teenager work, but believe it or not, I have no intention of bulldozing any of the content that is attached to my olden values, ideologies, and opinions. I believe that these are components of the story that, while really embarrassing and outdated to me, shouldn't be modified just because I'm older and have changed. I'm going to fix and add to the story, but I am going to respect the bold decisions that my teenage self made by preserving most of it.
At the end of the decade, I still think about F-Zero: Seppuku constantly; I'm even still writing Seppuku Tales for it, as best I can. It's a solid story that people continue to discover and enjoy, and that brings me a lot of fulfillment!
So on this day, we celebrate the 10th year of F-Zero: Seppuku's existence!
