Description asked if I could show her how I color my drawings in Photoshop CS. I thought I'd make a tutorial for all to see. Oh, and in order to really view this well, it would be best to zoom in.

I used Tony from my last pic.

1. First, I sketched him out (well, duh).
2. Then, I used a lightbox and inked over the sketch on bristol board paper. After I scanned the inked drawing into Photoshop, I used the Magic Wand Tool to select each area within the outlines that was to be colored and deleted them.
3. I made a "base color" layer under the outlines layer. I colored each area with a solid color by using the Pencil Tool. I used colors that were medium in value.
4. Now, when I start to shade, I go lighter first. I used the Brush Tool to make any parts of the character lighter wherever I felt it needed to be. Don't go too light yet.
5. Next, I filled in the shadows. Make sure that when you shade, you remember to do the inside of the mouth, the pupils, and even the eyebrows if they're colored.
6. Finally, I added in a few highlights. Usually, these go on the face and in the hair. I also added a sparkle to the eyes.

There you go! I hope this is good for whoever needs the help! If you need any more tips, feel free to ask! ^__^
