The game's just kinda good in my opinion. It felt overhyped by the public and underwhelming as a product to me. I like the character designs and personalities and stuff since they're all unique enough to make it charming though.

Tbh the artwork/sprite design, ost, and personalities were unique to me. But people are high-key complaining how 'Megalovania' was stolen from Earthbound.

That was a fairly better game (IMO, this game was rad, it has its flaws, but still, a classic), besides, that was a game from the 90s. Known as Mother in Jap, Earthbound in US.
Still waiting on that sweet, sweet dubbed re-release of Mother 1-3 (ik Earthbound is on the SNES Classic and there are fan translations, but I want a dubbed release for 3DS or Switch, i'd pay 80$ for it)
Ha, its kinda like how people are complaining how others stole Fortnite dances even though it came from other sources. Take On Me was a dance from a Marlon Webb vine ffs.

I don't really like the art style for the game's sprites outside combat, just because they look a bit silly to me. I do really like the personalities given to the characters and the OST with it. The game was especially good at making characters unique and memorable.
I think the message/gimmick of it is where it falls flat, though. Sure, there's technically like, 50+ endings or something, but it's generalized to 3. And if you kill anything while trying to avoid doing so, or decide to not kill something when you're trying to kill everything the game autolocks you to the normal ending all the same. It's kind of unsatisfying. As of the endings, I thought they were alright. I just thought that the normal ending was really predictable. I like the Genocide ending the most, because even though what you are doing has been established to be wrong, killing Sans still feels satisfying.
As of OST, it's fine to take inspiration, people. Jesus fuck. Like, nothing in this world is truly original, not even UnderTales "spare everyone" gimmick is brand new.

Can we talk about Cuphead too? That game has such a beautiful art aesthetic to it, it genuinely feels like an old 20-30s cartoon! Which is why it took so long to release and it was worth it. I love that game. (Yan-dev cannot compare his shitty ass game to it, which is something he did-)

Wtf? But yeah, killing Sans is satisfying, especially when you've been at it for a very long time.
The fact that the game logs data about itself too was the only thing about endings, imo it was great.

I've seen 'spare people' in so much games its kinda unreal. Fallout has the karma/be nice to everyone ending, Detroit Become Human has it, etc etc

Yeah, Cuphead is a pretty good game. I think the main flaw of it is that the story is somewhat boring in comparison to the gameplay and animations. As of the character designs of that, it's just rawly creative, and that's what makes the bossy interesting. The game doesn't waste time establishing a morr storyline because it knows that you're not really going to care as much.
However, that's also my main complaint. I'm using someone else's words here, but it's almost like a flashy suit of armor. It's gorgous to look at, but kinda hollow.
Anyways. Yes, there are -technically- 50+ endings, based upon who you kill, who you don't kill and who you befriend. They're mostly just changes in the normal ending where you get a call from Sans, but people technically consider them endings, even if they're not that different from each other.
Holy fuck, as of the "Spare people" thing, even though it's done alright in UnderTale, I find it annoying to deal with, especially when the game tries to make you feel bad for doing it even though it's a game. Again, UnderTale was okay at this, but it was just preachy about it.

Mainly the art style is the crowning thing on it. It genuinely looks like the old cartoons my grandparents would've watched. The main fact too why lots of people liked it and didn't care about the story was for the art. Especially since Fallout already includes oldies music in their games.
But yes, character design in Cuphead is amazing. Imo its quite creative. The mermaid boss kinda reminds me of Betty Boop.
Also Telltale Games? I love their art aesthetic, the new eps kinda feel bland imo. I r e a l l y hope they dont ruin TWAU ep 2

I mean, in Fallout, what you do affects your companions/npcs, if you keep murdering people for fun, companions such as Nick/Codsworth/Piper will hate you, while if you spare and be nice its the opposite.

Did you know that hoodies are actually one of the most overused design choices for characters? They're used often because they're workable for many different personalities, and Sans was a pioneer of such. Thus, it's a popular choice.
Along with that, anyone can smirk. That's not just a thing Sans does. Just because Bendy and Sans are short and have almost constant grins doesn't mean they ripped each other off. They just have something in common.
Also, one last thing, did it ever cross your mind that maybe the person who this design is for WANTED the design that way?

Here's why the design isn't theft: The eyes seem like more of an inspiration thing, since Sans eyes aren't always in bad time mode, like this characters seem to be. (Just judging from this image.) Secondly, lots of people have blue hoodies. This isn't some Sans exclusive thing. (And they have white stripes on the sleeves, something Sans isn't shown to have.) Finally, the shorts are a different style. Black and white shorts aren't something Toby Fox invented.

You know, maybe the characters aren't knockoffs just because they look similar. My friend made a race of robot animals a year before FNAF, but that doesn't mean FNAF copied my friend. It just means coincidences exist. For all you know, this character might not be a genuinely funny guy, and instead jokes and laughs and entertains to cope with the insecurities they have inside themselves. Maybe they think that if they're entertaining they'll be worth something. Or, I dunno, maybe they're different--
You can't make assumptions based on appearance alone.
Also, the person getting the design just might have WANTED it like that. We don't know.
