Description
The original Phoenix Nebula... going through my work for inclusion into my new updated gallery (coming soon) and figured that nobody really likes the "revisited" piece all that much, so it's about time I brought the original back into the light.This image was remastered for higher resolution February 2014.

Lol, oh wow, I thought "phoenix" before I noticed the title - hopefully everyone else does too - thought the darkness is so very sharp, it almost looks like its collapsing down on the light too.
Since it's a nebula though, it be fun to have a secondary title that implies new birth, life, creation etc. "Phoenix--"

Like for so many others this piece and others from your amazing gallery was one of the reasons why I delved deeper into and tried my own hands on creating space related art. You're a source of inspiration and a great artist to boot. Keep it up Greg.

Wonderful picture with amazing blending of colours. I haven't seen a Phoenix like this before and I am amazed how you made it look so realistic. I feel like it is a real Phoenix. I have a big fantasy in my mind which I use to see art. And what I see here is art. Lovely texture, lovely colours. I gotta say I love this work.
