Description
Japan is blessed with manga artists in the 20th century.Doraemon, Sanrio series (Hello Kitty etc), Pikachu, Detective Conan are some characters in the 2D world
giving sweet memories for kids all over the world!
🌱 Among them, Tezuka Osamu 手塚治虫 is the god figure, having created the masterpiece "Tetsuwan Atomu" 鉄腕アトム also known as "Astroboy". The contents are not about cheesy romanticism as flooded among fiction arts, but largely about technology and how the Future looks like. 🌈 Having technology-incorporated kids as protagonists, the series add vibrancy and saturation to the human world!
This work uploaded here, is a piece of mural by the train station of Takadanobaba, Tokyo.
With Prof. Ochanomizu お茶の水 (literally "water of tea") proudly boasting his new invention of a new Recycling Machine: "Hey, it's done! You may now throw the stuffs inside!"
With Astroboy first published in the era of 1952~1968, a "Recycling Machine" was definitely futuristic for people back then!
Nowadays of course we are familiar with facilities such as MRF or recycling factories usually located in suburban areas, but Tezuka is definitely a Nobel Prize class prophet, for predicting what is needed for life in the future!
