I'm finally finished with my Art-n-Fly colored pencil piece. I was so excited when I got the opportunity to test and review this set of 48 oil based pencils. The first thing I did was swatch out all the colors. They have a very vibrant line and a lot of bright oranges, blues, reds and so on. They also had a good range of earth tones. The main draw back I noticed was the patchiness with some of the colors. Even though they had good saturation the patchyness was the first thing to bother me but as I kept working light to dark it wasn't as bad and I started liking them better. The pencils sharpened okay breaking a few times but nothing too frustrating. Also if you like to work on toned paper these are not ideal for that because they are very transparent. Overall, I liked these not as much as my other pencils but I defiantly give them 3 out of 5 stars. I will continue to use them for colored pencil studies.
