My all time favourite background pony; Sunlight Spring, as my very own creature design; a Suncat!

Suncats are a very unknown hybrid of Pegasus, Tiger and Puma. Some say they don't even exist. Others say they come out only at night when everypony is sleeping. They're very harmless creatures, yet powerful. Despite the name, and the wings, Suncats are very strong and talented swimmers. With the grace of a swan and the claw of a lion, this serene creature isn't to be messed around with. But don't worry; nopony has seen one in hundreds and hundreds of years. Fuelled by solar energy, Suncats are believed to live up trees, deep in uncharted forests and in high up cliffs. Ponies say that their fur is enough to keep you warm at the tip of the coldest mountain, and their wings beat like thunder. They protect the forests from any invading evil. In one book, found in the Canterlot Archives, one piece of the scarce information reads: "Suncats prance and dive around the edges of their home, as if they're dancing. The Two Young Royal Sisters often refer to these beautiful creatures as Cheering-Cats. But word is not to be spoken of these important animals, as they play an important and crucial role in the protection of Equestria's hidden wonders."
