Her family is part of a Demon Slayer clan. So her family estate is surrounded by wisteria flowers. But on full moon she took her younger sister to see a flower that only blooms at night. Her sister where ahead with youngest sister in front, unfortunately a demon was there and got to her before the two. The demon killed her sister and slashed her back. Only her and one where able to get away. She was 13 when she was attacked, so a year later she trained as demon slayer. Years later she meet Zenitsu at the entrance exam, ever since they been friends. When getting food she found Zenitsu being lectured by Tanjiro. Thinking Inosuke was demon she went after him in the demon house. When she met Nuzuko she was reminded of her late sister.
