Description
Acchi had been searching for food and cash that morning (old habits die hard and the grown-up was out doing her own work. Besides, the house they lived in was a wreck. Acchi wanted to help take care of things, whether she admitted it or not) when she saw something incredibly odd. A wyngling, dark in color aside from the shock of white hair that could put that wrinkled old green lady to shame, balancing on one of the strings of candle lights. It looked dangerous, and they didn't seem to be going anywhere in particular. What gives?"Oi, granny, get down! You're gonna hurt cher'self!" Acchi barked, with the intention of spooking them and sending them toppling into the awning of the apple stand nearby. Instead, they perked before gracefully leaping to the ground.
"Granny? That's something I don't hear everyday." The wyngling smirked, "Why are you throwing names around, scrawny?"
"Because you look like a little old lady who thinks she's still back in the circus." Acchi narrowed her eyes defensively, "What are you doin' up there anyway?"
"Because it's fun? Why else be up there?" The wyngling's tail wagged a little, "My name is Rhysand, you?"
"What's it to ya?"
"Ooh, sassy are you?" Rhysand teased her, "Then again, you do look pretty pitiful. My guess is something to do with Warp-"
"You shut your mouth!" Acchi barked with a dangerous tone, "You get the rest a' that sentence out and I'll strangle ya with your own tongue!"
"Woah, woah, easy." Rhysand lifted a hand, "Okay, touchy subject. I'll back off."
"You better." Acchi growled before shaking herself out like a runeboo.
A moment of silence passes before Rhysand spoke again. "So are you going to tell me what your name is now?"
"...It's Acchi."
"Acchi? That's a fitting name. It's sharp, rough, like you."
"You really tryin' to insult me again?"
Rhysand laughed. "Not at all, actually. I like rough and tumble, as you could see by the whole tightrope act. I like fun, and you look like you could be fun if you loosened up a bit."
"Yeah, well I can't. You a nook brat?" Acchi asked, looking him up and down. He looked pudgy enough.
"I am."
"You get a whole crowded building and a grown-up who dotes on you and has plenty to eat all the time. I don't. So watch your mouth."
"You don't have parents? Why don't you go to the nook?" Rhysand asked, looking slightly confused and only further annoying Acchi.
"I've got a grown-up. But she's hungry too. She looked out for me, so I'm looking out for her." Acchi held her head high, wanting to prove herself better than some pitiful baby.
"If you and your... grown-up are both hungry, I can get you some food. To tell you the truth, I'm not a fan of bowing to Alma's pity either. We're a lot alike apparently." Rhysand said, his annoying little smirk returning.
"In your dreams, granny. Why don'tcha scram and go fall off a roof or somethin'?" Acchi narrowed her eyes before her curiosity got the better of her, "...Why do you hate the old lady?"
"I wouldn't say I hate her. She annoys me more than I thought possible, but I don't hate her." Rhysand said, "She thinks that I can't take care of myself. I can. I just can't get that through her head."
"I see." Acchi expression softened ever so slightly, "Yeah well, I can take care of myself too. My grown-up and I can at least."
"I'm glad." Rhysand gave a little bow, "Well scrawny, I'm gonna go fall off that roof you mentioned, it sounds like a fun time. Ta-ta."
He disappeared into one of the alleyways before a couple of apples roll out and stop perfectly at her feet. A shadow zips across the rooftops and is gone. Acchi frowned, wrinkling her nose before slowly picking up the apples and heading on her way.

I've been meaning to have these two chat for ages but haven't gotten around to actually drawing it out. They have similar mentalities that stem from very different circumstances, and are definitely frenemy material.
