Here we have a hand drawn sketch of the Type 181 or affectionately referred to as the THING. Originally developed for the German Army, the Type 181 was also sold to the public, as the Kurierwagen in Germany, the Trekker in the United Kingdom, the Thing in the United States (1973-1974), and the Safari in Mexico. As Dr Seuss once said, "No collection is complete without a Thing."
