I was recently going through some of the earliest drawings in AutoCAD relating to my Citadon Chronicles Universe and I saw the seven swords of the seven Citadonian Knights. And looking at them, then back to some of the stuff I've been doing recently, I realized that they were in some serious need of aesthetic updating if their quality was going to match my recent drawings (especially the character drawings of their respective wielders). For a while I knew I had to make them look better, give A LOT more detail to the designs, but didn't know how. Then over vacation last week I finally hit inspiration and am in love with what came as a result. So, to go along with this aesthetic update I also figured it's time to shed some light onto how these swords that serve a very important purpose for much of the grander moments in my story actually work. So let us start out with this one right here, the first one I had conceptualized.

The Sword of Truth wielded by the Citadonian Knight of Truth, given the personal name of Engelon (En-ghel-on) by the Modern Citadonian Knights, is also know as, "The Light Bringer" for the many wars and other conflicts it helped stop in the hands of the legendary Commander Kraid who was the first of the modern Citadonian Knights taking up the mantle of leadership amongst the other knights. Engelon is prized even amongst the other great swords of the Citadonian Knights because of this history and is only wielded by what the others consider to be the mentor of the group, the one they look up to most, for guidance as such is the duty of the Knight of Truth; To bring truth and order forward as falsehood is the downfall of civilization. Etched upon the blade in Citadonian script are the words, "One edge to defend, one to destroy, choose which is true"

Since this is the first updated Citadonian Knight sword then I will explain what exactly they are as you may question why such a thing could be a viable weapon in a sci fi universe setting. The swords are made of an unknown, practically indestructible alloy crafted by the super advanced ancient Citadonians over 50,000 years ago along with the armor of the Citadonian Knights which are made of a similar alloy. They are the finest examples of Citadonian innovation and craftsmanship that has ever been uncovered. All the swords, and a common feature among other Citadonian artifacts, is that the blades are collapsible in that they are segmented into two or three pieces that allow the blade to retract for convenience and to put away into its specially designed scabbard and then extend to its full length when it is activated. Despite the extreme structural density of the swords' construction they are surprisingly lightweight and balanced, which could mean gravitational-manipulation technology at work. Of course no sword is worth anything in a fight without a good blade and these swords have the sharpest blades you can, and will ever, find. The metal the blade is made out of is sharpened along the edged to such a degree, and is immune to any form of corrosion or dulling, that you can cut yourself by simply touching the edge with the faintest amount of force. But the metal isn't what gives the Citadonian Swords their god-like cutting power; Once activated fully in the hands of a citadonian knight (And ONLY a Citadonian Knight as the grip is made out of a nano-weave construct that can identify the wielder by sense of touch.) a dense field of super heated particles are projected in a thin line across the sharpened edge of the blade with the only know source being from the inner workings of the sword itself. On top of this feature the blade was later discovered to be vibrating at such a high frequency that it's impossible to see with the eye. This contained energy field is so hot and so dense that, coupled with and amplified by the vibro-blade, allows the sword to cut through practically anything. Commander Kraid became infamous for using the sword to slice through the armor of tanks and destroying them from within. The swords in the hands of the Citadonian Knights who wear armor that have shields as strong, if not stronger, than a main battle tank's and are all worn by natural super soldiers outright (The Kraid Lineage), are often able to dash around around the battlefield at will and cut down anyone and anything that dares to oppose them.
