No, certainly not. It's one cute little gif among nearly 600 artworks in my gallery. So what?
Not everything on DeviantArt is "Art" -look at all the other gifs/motivational pictures/screenshots/etc. And no, I'm not a friend of that either. But please don't take it too serious. People like it, it made them smile - and I'm happy about it.

No your other art is very nice, I'm not complaining necessarily, it's just that I think this stuff could be put somewhere else. I understand it makes people happy, I guess I just have an uptight standard or something, even though I do favorite the occasional cute thing, it's usually still a drawing. I mean don't get me wrong, I love cute things, it's just I guess I'd rather see the mass of users giving other artwork more notoriety than a gif, even including your other art.

Thats an interesting opinion you have there. Duchamp, one of the most famous artists in history challenged that exact notion with his artwork labeled "Fountain" which was a urinal he found and put in a gallery. It was very controversial because like yourself, the judges at the time had very "uptight standards" and deemed anything that didn't have the aesthetics or skill of famous expressionists or impressionists or other appreciated mediums as garbage or even "not art".
Duchamps artwork to me was to state that "art" no matter how hard you try to, cannot be defined besides having the label "art". Which makes whatever you want to be art, art such as a blade of grass.. an apple pie.. a website, an MRI scan or perhaps even a motion picture of the deranged habit of a rabbit.

I've heard that story a million and one times. I still don't think everything is art, then it defeats the purpose. If you put effort and heart into something then to me it's art, it has to have a certain something to it. The Deviant who posted this gif has a very nice style of art if you take the time to look in their gallery, but I don't consider gifs art. They even said they don't consider it art, it's just here because it makes people happy. And I'm fine with that but I'd rather that some of the better art on this website would get some notoriety, just look in my favorites and you'll see the kind of things I admire.
But art is and always will be entirely based on one's personal opinion of it, nobody can tell someone else what art is you can merely state your purview on it.
