And you thought I couldn't do anything without a tablet! HA!!! (unless, you're one of those people who knew/know better...then well....congrats or something?)

Anyways, when I started drawing this I kinda wanted to draw parallels between the characters as a finished piece....but I didn't know how to do that, so, I'll probably split these in half, ink, finish, and color them, and go into dissections of the characters in their own separate deviations.

The long and short of it is that the characters have appeal (Sonic's sustains him through current his dark age). They, the worlds they live in, and the game mechanics are (usually) kept simple (both characters have little past, little characterization beyond a paragraph, and again, Sonic's games lost quality once they started adding depth Sonic battle, Sonic Rush, and Sonic chronicles being the rare exceptions). And the game mechanics and main gimmick are fun (Mario's being Jump physics, while Sonic's is momentum rather than just pure speed; the earlier games being about building up enough momentum to take which path you wanted, rather than just blazing through, which is why Unleashed Wii was better rated than Unleashed 360.

Okay, it wasn't that short....but hey, I do some thinking sometimes. Look forward to the inked and colored versions!
