hello friends! i'm back from vacation and i'd like to say i apologize. first of all, a couple people have asked about my style in that it looks like someone else's style (and i would like to clarify, there was absolutely no intent of mimicry!) who is uncomfortable with my drawing of wings of fire dragons in. i definitely respect the artist's wishes, and they have messaged me very politely about it. i admit that i respect their art, and have referenced their style pretty heavily fairly frequently. it was not until it was pointed out to me that i realized just how similar it was.
with that, i am working hard to improve and make my style more unique and less referenced on someone else's. as you can see, it is still somewhat similar, but i am actively trying to make it so it is less so. i do apologize again, to the artist especially, and will leave off that i appreciate that they contacted me about it and expressed their discomfort! i do agree that i was out of line for such heavy reference.
going forward i will be trying to use my own, relatively uninfluenced style for all my pieces.
if it begins to seem referenced off of any particular artist again-- tell me! my style is not a set in stone item. i am actively improving it and getting better all the time.
