A hood-up version of this: www.deviantart.com/skudde-ocs/… I couldn't decide which one I liked more so have both.

Rrel on a smoke break. He's the only alter who smokes, so it's quite inconvenient for the others. Especially Arb herself who hates the taste. I think their system is showing some signs of better functioning recently, there's even some healthy cooperation between some of them, but it's still a very, very messy bunch.

Rrel didn't use to smoke, for example. It started when they were trying out new ways to cope with adrenaline addiction, which was a common issue for saiyans in Tharinas. The empowered feeling is easy to get hooked on.
So when Princess - the least functional personality among them - forced everyone else out for several years, the body itself got used to a constant state of alertness and aggression. First Arb and the others had prescription substances from their doctor, paired with other suppressive medicine to help them stabilize, but after moving to Galpas their access to certain drugs became very limited. They had to resort to local options.
I don't know specifically what Rrel is smoking, but it ain't tobacco. He's the most tense of the bunch so I understand the need for him to calm his nerves. Heck, if it works it works. Rrel has to deal with a lot as a primary protector, you do you man.

Many characters of mine struggle moving on from their past, let it be mistakes, abuse, losing loved ones or all three. For many of them the solution would be to let go of that past, appreciate where they are and move on.
But when it comes to Arb I keep struggling to see circumstances that would lead to her DID system leading even a relatively pleasant life. Princess ruined their public image and burned bridges to anyone who had known them before. Living in the occupied territories of Central worked for a little bit, but Arb herself needs a community to thrive so simply surviving is not enough. They ended up moving to Galpas, which is a very communal world and indeed worked out very well for Arb. But not her alters, who struggle quite a lot with peaceful domestic life. It may have been fine years ago, but now that several years of warrior life has messed up their brain chemistry, being a gang of traumatized saiyans in a single powerful body that has no one to punch isn't so easy anymore.
What they would need is a community where people know her and that understands their disorder, is physically capable of dealing with it and also provides an outlet to let out some steam. So ideally they could hang with Arb's ex-husband and the rest of the remains of the Mayjin. Eeeeexcept Cris wants nothing to do with her, Alex might never forgive her for some of the things Princess did, Nicole thinks she's a liability and they have quite enough on their plates without another mentally ill saiyan in their hands. No offence Cris, you need therapy too.

So I don't know where Arb is supposed to go. It's only a matter of time before Galpas stops working out for them. Arb will be very sad, regardless whether Rrel just takes off and tells her later, or whether they manage to talk about it and Arb needs to decide to leave Galpas. Evirune has been a very good influence on them, but I doubt she is going with them.
Reminder to self to draw Evvie doing stuff with Arb and her alters sometime.
