Description

The early dawn crept in with its morning chill, dew collected upon budding plants as birds sang off in the distance. Their rising songs greeted Roamer and the herd with the sweet melody, but others would find it more of an annoyance when trying to sleep. Amongst the adults the youngest of the herd, Luna, was more than ready to rise with the song birds of the valley. She tried to get the others to rise with her, but the others were in no rush to get up. With a huff of slight annoyance, Luna wondered a bit from the drowsy herd to explore the nature around her. From over the hillside, the strangest prolonged deep bellowing call rang out as Luna raised her head from sniffing flowers. Curious, Luna venture further from the herd to investigate the source. As she reached the top of the hill, tall horns towered tall and heavy above Luna as a full grown bull snorted into her face.

Roamer had unknowingly lead the herd near grazing grounds to a cattle ranch, and now Luna has come across a steer that had gotten free from its fenced in pasture. It seemed to have been equally surprised at Luna for a moment as Luna stared back at them. Another call is heard following from down the hill as the steer looked behind itself. Thundering hooves soon follow as the steer then quickly pushes pass Luna to run for its freedom. Luna Looked down the hill seeing horses running fast toward her, strange beings upon their backs calling out and making whistling sounds. Before she even knew it they were upon her, coming close to trampling her as she scrambled to run. In her panic all she could think of to do is gallop toward Roamer and the others , neighing loudly for her mother. The boisterous commotion finally does get the herd's attention as they start to get up on their hooves. However, it was too little too late with the strange beings now focusing their attention on the herd that has trespassed onto their land. The steer can be caught easily, but pesky mustangs need to be dealt with or chased off. Luna was quick to get lassoed as panic quickly spread through the herd to run. Starlight was the slowest of the bunch and was also quickly roped. She roared out in a furious rage, bucking and rearing to get free. Roamer slides to a halt when he looks back to see Luna and Starlight get captured by the gang of ranchers. He charged back to try and help them as he called to Thunder to keep leading the rest onward.
While Thunder and the other mares make their escape, Roamer tries his best to to get Luna and Starlight freed from the ropes. Biting and stomping at tamed horses and riders to make them release their grip on their ropes. Unfortunately the ranchers were tougher and smarter than Roamer anticipated, cutting all three of them off from the rest of the herd as they used to rush to chase them back toward the ranch and cornering them.
