Description
Previous | NextIn his hubris, the doctor believed he was unstoppable.
While everyone else was buying time, Casino and Skunk had been sent by Platypus on a mission to a part of the universe where he believed Dr. Letra Relse had hidden the secret to his invulnerability; wherein they found a strange mansion drifting through the void of space filled with all manner of murderous marionettes, manic mannequins, neurotic nutcrackers, destructive dolls, savage statues, terrifying toys, fearsome figurines, and powerful puppets. Most notable of all was a well-guarded puppet in the likeness of Punch, yet with an uncannily otherworldly appearance, for it was a relic brought down directly from a higher plane of reality, Terra.
Dr. Relse had used the puppet as a vessel for his soul, making him effectively Terran, a being of the "real world", and therefore invulnerable to all things in Galmiun. However, as a result the puppet itself was now destructible, and once destroyed, the doctor would become vulnerable.
I drew Nautilus back in 2023 , and created RPG Maker MV and Gacha Life artwork for him back in 2018 and 2020 respectively, though this is the first time I've revealed his right eye, which is normally concealed by his hair.
Dr. Relse has a weakness for candy, and is often seen eating handfuls of it as he works. This unfortunately led to an accident during the creation of Nautilus, making his right eye non-functional with the appearance of a starlight mint (and reminiscent of the shell of a nautilus). The doctor has never forgiven himself for marring his greatest creation with such a defect due to his own carelessness, while Nautilus is self-conscious about it, choosing to hide it both for his own sake and because seeing it reminds his creator of what he considers his greatest blunder.
The doctor made countless attempts to improve upon his work, seeking to replace his flawed prototype with a perfect successor, yet Nautilus would prove to be his magnum opus. Unbeknownst to both of them, it was in fact the incident itself that made Nautilus as remarkable as he is.
