My word. This is absolutely beautiful and I must say you have some serious skills dear.
Gorgeous image. I love the colour in this - the clouds, the many shades of blue then the Sun seeping through the clouds, shining through then the small black spot near the bottom left corner... it really is stunning and I really have no criticism for you so I'm very sorry I've none to offer! When I flick through your gallery I had better see some more stunning pieces. VERY well done.

f/11 = smaller aperture opening for sharper focus.

ISO 160 = traditionally film speed which is supposed to be the film's sensitivity to light. So the higher this number, the faster you can set your shutter speed to. So an ISO of 1600 suggests that you can take pictures in the dark because sensitivity is high, hence the film can catch more light.

Currently with new technology film has been replaced by digital sensors, ISO merely refer to the boosting of brightness on a sensor.

There. A little more clear.

ok, but i dont think f11 gives best sharpen n resolution, maybe some between f5,6-8. high aperture people are using for deep focus depth, you never seen focus depth on the clouds even if u set f1.2 so i still dont understand this setup..

Oh yeah, just to clarify, it's really not the DOF, it's more about the amount of light that's going into the camera.

No you're closing the aperture. It's sorta like when you're squinting you can see a little better because your focal point is a lot smaller. Just like that, when the F value is higher, you have less blur affecting the photograph. AT the same time, since I'm looking into a patch of extremely bright areas the whole purpose for me to raise the aperture is to let less light in, that way I can control shutter speed and also exposure.

Also if you know your camera's capabilities, an F/2.8 will already give you a super over-exposed photograph. With the subject matter being the sky, and the sky being pretty bright (with still sunlight) you can't expect to take pictures using a F-stop of 2.8 or lower. Otherwise you'll run into problems (as mentioned) over exposure, blurry DOF (which is not going to happen in this case), and uncontrollable, high shutter speeds. You want to get a perfect, single exposure, that's why you control shutter speed and aperature. And frankly a f value of 2.8 will give you too much light, and the shutter speed will have to be 1/8000 and beyond for a good exposure. That's a ridiculously limited range to work with.

I'd say a F/ of 5.6 ~ 8 is a decent range but not in this case. The sky was extremely bright still so I took photographs using ND filters and so on, but I guess this worked out well too.

So to summarize this: an f-stop of 1 is a widely open eye that will let a lot of light in. But it will blur things and you have a narrow depth of field. A f-stop of 11 is like when you squint. You let less light in, but you can see things a lot clearly. And your depth of field is wider.
