Peri, despite her last name, was born a blue wolf with a history shrouded in mystery, which many people felt doubtful on what she considered to be the magical beginning. However, she had a reputation of being a lonely yet kind-hearted hero back in her mountain town, plagued with bandits back in her childhood. In fact, her town had been raided the most right in one single county of Peppermint in California, but what drove her to fight back was the loss of her parents during the gunned robbery of her farmhouse. Even to the most reliable soothsayers and fortunetellers, how Peri managed to drive bandits out of the county was unknown but they persistently believed it involved something magical, although even they were unsure whether Peri's keyblade had something to do with it, as it was simply used as a sword.

Besides her well-known contributions to her own hometown, Peri Longfox never thought of exploring outside the Peppermint County, but one day in 2020, when she noticed a military outpost newly established at the gate to her town. Soldiers stationing there recalled how bored Peri looked and she was curious enough to note about their big and muscular bodies, rich coming from her fellow townspeople who were oblivious to even see the soldiers coming. Among a group of 10 soldiers too busy setting their new outpost, one eagle soldier named George Ashton Parry was open to explain how they all got big and muscular, that all traced back to the muscle growth experiment named 'the MALAKAS Project', whose elements received atmost interest from Peri. After two days of chatting with George, Peri agreed to sign up for the project, but unbeknownst to both her and the military outpost, a bandit scout had been watching the whole conversation and returned to his mountain camp to give out his report.

A week later, Peri was brought by George on a jeep into the mountain base, a main operation site for the MALAKAS Project, which happened to be in the Calamondin County, just to the southwest of Peppermint County. In the middle of the trip, George expressed his fascination in Peri's continuous efforts to drive away bandits (as popularly told across the Peppermint County), and his curiousity regarding her keyblade, in which Peri replied vaguely that it was a key to her secret weapon but added that the keyblade was simply a blade. George noted that Peri had to have a specific and legitimate reason to join the project, but she assured him she would give out an honest motive later.

As she had stepped her foot at the mountain base, she immediately recognized the big, brown fox chatting with the trio of new reptilian recruits. While she had never watched the TV commercial promoting the MALAKAS Project, featuring the said fox named Timothy Soro, she recently often listened to her fellow locals talking about their occasional visits to Timothy since May 2016. He happened to have such visits, due to having saved a bus of elderly tourists coming from Peri's hometown. As the trio of reptiles walked away in excitement, Timothy turned to Peri with a warm welcome and asked for her motive in joining the project, and Peri revealed her desire to diversify her fighting styles, not just weapons. Timothy was surprised to hear that, adding that she was one of a few dozens of recruits who wished to learn more about fighting. Given that he was full with several recruits still in training, he assigned her to train under supervision of his wallaby friend Wilbur, but she could learn more of martial arts from Timothy only on Saturdays.

Throughout her stay in the mountain base, Peri had learned few well known martial arts practices, most specifically Muay Thai, Eskrima, Karate, and Taekwondo, but she also learned to familiarize with more weapons. A naginata (and its later double-headed counterpart) and a scimitar, both bought from the antique store owned by the elderly Japanese couple in a nearby hamlet, became Peri's main weapons. She had also gained new friends, who knew her well about her actions in beating bandits that plagued her hometown, as those recruits used to live near there. While she never had any encounter that personally affected her, she did assist in two separate incidents: one where she attempted to stop a gang brute from attacking the Singaporean cat, and another where she ran after the fleeing patrol group of Brisa Creek beavers.

Despite such incidents, Peri moved on until December 25th, where everyone around the mountain base were celebrating Christmas Day. Timothy Soro gathered up his friends in a fastfood restaurant, including Diego Dagdag, EJ Spenser, Wilbur Wallaby, Christopher North, Patih Jantung, Jay Heartwing, Hector "Sonic" Vidal, Dane Fushigi, Peri Longfox, Krister Gudilibat, and EJ Husky. The Christmas party consisted of many enjoyable games, film showings, buffet tables of various foods and drinks, etc. Overall, it lasted two hours until midnight, and then there would be another two hours of more activities past midnight, but some opted to retire and sleep.

Peri had her fill after earning the temporary Juggernaut rank, but she had to leave the mountain base earlier than a scheduled end of her stay, because George rushed into the base and informed her regarding the large group of bandits coming to destroy her hometown. She had also gathered up her new friends, who were very willing to help her kick those bandits' butts. Telecommunications in the Peppermint County were also down as well, so how she would deal with those bandits could never be told accurately. However after another night, one wounded bandit leader was last seen interacting with Brisa Creek beavers in a recently conquered town, believed to be requesting for backup as a new means of revenge, mostly against Peri.
