Well it could be the fact that Godzilla is potrayed by Andy Serkis for motion capture of the monster.

Actually, that isn't true. Nobody actually did motion capture. They just had Andy Serkis as a consultant for how Godzilla would look in order to imitate motion capture, and recapture the old "man-in-suit" feeling.
