"Today is finally my 13th birthday!," Christina Katz exclaimed in her purple-infested room. "I'm finally old enough to get a phone!" Christina envied her friends who all had their phones- iPhones of course. She never talked about them and they never asked her if she had social media. "Nah," Christina always replied to people "Too many stalkers..". Christina only wanted two things for her birthday- earrings, and a phone of course!

Christina's best friend, Victoria Lennon, arrived shortly after Christina was just ready. She greeted her best friend with a warm hug and a "Happy Birthday, Christie!" Victoria and Christina have bend friend since 2nd grade- they both got into trouble because they stepped on a kid's finger on the monkey bars which made him fall into mud. "Thanks to much Vickie!" Christina returned the hug just as affectionately. Victoria handed Christina a small white box wrapped in coral shiny ribbon. Christina tore the ribbon off and opened the delicate box carefully. Christina gasped and held up the beautiful, shiny golden earrings Victoria gave her. "Oh my goodness Vickie! There so gorgeous!," She turned around and hugged her best friend once more. "You're the best friend ever!" she gushed.

Christina's aunt, Auntie Flora, came in the door with a long, rectangular box in pink polka dot wrapping paper. Christie and Vickie came down the stairs and greeted Auntie Flora. "How's my big girl, eh?" she said to Christina, putting the box down with a huff and pulling Christina into a long, warm hug. She planted a kiss on Christie's temple as she let go. "And hows the Vickster hm?" she said to Vickie, doing the same gestures as she did to Christina. "Not bad, actually" she laughed. "Well do I have a gift for you!" Auntie Flora said with a big smile. Christina walked over to the big box. She started at the top tearing off the paper gently, and worked her way towards the bottom. Christina knew it wasn't a phone.. It was a huge, life-sized doll made of plastic. "Wow..," Christina said with disappointment. "This is just-" "Adorable?!?!" Auntie Flora gushed as she wiped an imaginary speck of dust off the plastic covering. "Uh.. yeah..it's..totally adorbs!" Christina said with a huge, forced smile. "Well! I've got to head back home, girlitas.," Auntie Flora said with disappointment and a small frown. "I've got work tomorrow at 5:00! Can you believe it!" she said to no one. She kissed the girls on the cheek goodbye and headed out the door. "Ugh!," Christina said as she stomped her foot. "This stupid doll ruined my birthday!," Christina huffed. "I hate this doll, and I hate my family!" she screamed as she tore the box open with no grace and started to rip it's limbs off as she screamed with anger. "Dumb doll!" Christina screamed as she repeatedly punched the doll in the face. Christina threw the doll on her bed and wrestled it with no mercy. "Hey, hey, Christie! It did nothing to you!" Victoria managed to say over Christina's loud, angry screams. Christina obeyed after 10 more seconds of pounding the doll with her math book on the head. Christina walked backwards and looked at her fine work. The doll's pastel, frilly dress was torn into shreds. Her pale skin had bruises and scratches. Her blond hair had been out of its curls and was frizzy and out of control like a wild animal. And of course, her arms were scattered across Christina's bedroom floor. "Hmph!" Christina said with a huff. "Uhh.. wow." Victoria managed to say with her green eyes wildly looking at the doll.

Christina and Victoria were watching a movie- The Smurfs 2 they were chewing buttery popcorn and drinking Coca-Colas. Around the end of the movie, they both were surprisingly tired. They left their trash on the desk and tucked themselves into the sleeping bags on the floor. Christina's mom must've came in and turned off the lights, and shut the door, because Christina woke up when a shattering glass sound came from outside the door. "Woah!" Christina said as she shot up from her sleeping bag. She looked over at Victoria's side as she had woke up from the sound as well. "Did you hear that?" Victoria said in a low whisper. "Yeah.." Christina said out of breath. They both looked at each other, and got up from their sleeping bags out into the hallway. Victoria opened the bathroom doll and jumped back in a short scream as the doll was inside. She quickly shut the door and grabbed Christina's hand and went to hide inside the closet. The locked the door from the inside and hid behind the clothing. They both held their breath and made no sound. After what seemed years, the door knob started to rattle. Christina and Victoria gripped each others hands tightly. The door clicked, and inside came the doll. The doll flicked on the light and closed the door. In her left hand, held a sharp knife, the size of a No.2 pencil. "Night-time." the doll whispered in a soft voice. Christina and Victoria screamed loud and everything went blank....
