Description

Continuing my ruminations of Thrawn in exile and how he would have dressed given limited resources, I submit this variation.

This was made with Azalea's Dolls Sci Fi Warrior 2 program, but edited in Gimp.  Edits made in Gimp were:

1-the width of his nose, because I did not like any of the options in the dollmaker when it comes to Thrawn
2-the brightness of his eyes, because the red eyes available in the dollmaker were rather dark and did not stand out in the final picture

Although the new novel tells us Thrawn only appeared to have been in exile and was actually there less than a year, the original reading of "Mist Encounter" (which would eventually be reprinted as the first 2 chapters of "Thrawn") made it seem as though Thrawn had been in exile for at least a couple of years or more, as parts on his generators had worn out and one unit was cannibalized to repair another.

So, in this version, Thrawn's black Chiss Expansionary Fleet uniform has faded to gray, his boots are worn through.  Survival training for the Fleet has taught him how to hunt animals and to skin them for their pelts as well as how to tan the hides to make them into leather.  So, he has made leather moccasins for himself with long ties that he can crisscross over his lower legs.  Cannibalized pieces of his Fleet uniform, now faded to gray, cover his lower legs under the thongs which his moccasin lacings tight.

Animal hide tanned to buttery softness is wrapped around his lower half, covering a thicker leather loincloth.  The black leather baldric from his uniform has been cut in half and wrapped around each arm for protection against small but venomous reptiles and rodents who might try to attack when he raids their nests for food.  The belt made of thick, waxy leaves around his abdomen also aids in this protection.  When relaxing back in his makeshift home, a strip of black cloth serves as a belt to hold the ensemble in place.
