i guess i was just waitingfor an opportunity—
a chance to
smash old mirrors and
peel all of the skin off
my appendix so i could
let it wash down
the sink
i think too much
about smashed headlights and
possessions that
i will never own
i have so much to hide
underneath my skin,
hospital beds and all of
your old sweaters that i
no longer wear
i am slipping,
back into an old lifestyle
that was never mine
i only asked for one thing
