D'mind me.. jus' pokin' through yer drawin's
I reeeally like yer style.. and strangely enough I'm not normally fond of this kinda pic; the cresent moon with a face, but this'n's all unique'n'mixing with the face and the halfness and I severely like it :j

Im on the same boat with tefflonbilly! I was never successfull with watercolors! I really love this work tho! This is really cool. Great choice of colors! Its a somewhat classic depiction that you managed to recreate wonderfully! I also really like how the line between the sun and moon isn't especially clear. I love it, awsome work *adds to favorates*!

whoa, I remember the only I ever used watercolors was when I painted in like kindergarten and stuff. Unfortunatly, I didnt crank out any professional looking works like this. I feel like a jerk now, I used to always be cutting on watercolors. It's true- whenever I'd see something painted in watercolors the first thing I'd think was, "Heh, a kindergartener could make that." Mostly because those are the memories that watercolors hold for me. But the point is, when I saw this I was like, "Hey cool, this is really good looking." And I guess watercolors do have a certain feel to the pictures they create that you just can't get with other paints. My second point in this rambling is that most of the watercolor paintings I have seen really kinda suck, but you accomplished this marvelously. So, there's my two cents.

Wow! This is amazing! Nice blend of the "cool" colors and the middle is trippy. if you take away the darkblue its like a half moon, but if you put them together its like a full moon. Hehe im just rambling now, I could sit and stare at this for hours, bah! Im so easily amused

I love this watermoon. She may be my favorite of all. Maybe it's her coloring, or the gentle, loving, worried face. I like her lips a little pouty like that and her eyes so concerned. I love the purpled night shadows and the paper slits which might have fallen from her as triangular snowflakes...could happen, lol... And I really like the highlights of reflected light upon her face. She is wonderful, Ruth.

This mother(she's my mother now) seems a bit more aggitated. That sort of frustration with a loved one that is tough because you care enough to want to do what's right. Wow, that came out of nowhere and probably has nothing to do with this piece, and more to do with me. But I imagine her like a mother who's kid has been acting up all day and she's frustrated, but not angry. I think it's because of her right eye(right as in HER right eye, not the eye on the right...). It just feels different to me then the last one. I seem to notice the area outside of the face more than I remember from the original as well. The whole piece is much more textural and maybe even a bit harsher. That could explain why I see more frustration. I really love this piece though. I wish they sold your work on the DeviantPrints thing. This is the work I want on my walls.

Great work. Everything blends together so well. The dark blue on the left side of the face seems to separate it a bit from the everyday sun/moon artwork.
Always loved artwork that borders on dreams.
Spiral out, keep going
