umm just wondering, how did you get the background to be clear, as i cant get my backgrounds like that.. it shows up on photoshop as the background layer clear, but when i upload it on dA it goes to white :l

I usually use paint tool SAI- the background automatically saves as transparent if you don't fill in the background.
I do use photoshop every now and then though- it should have the checkered background to be transparent... What file type are you using?
I'm just wondering because file types like jpeg don't support transparency- you'll need to use .png for that.
