The subject seems to have suffered through mental psychological trauma, due to his colleague passing. And although at the first notice he died from starvation, it’s more accurate that he actually died through hypothermia. Because, what the DNA scan shows is that he was human, but that he also got some foreign unknown cellular infection, that isn’t bacterial or viral origin. But it seems that this cell made him able to survive without food for larger periods, but it seems it couldn’t take him entirely due to the cold and thus died, taking the host with it. But the only thing in question is how he got these cells, inside his system.
