Thanks to this certain fan-art over on Twitter and Cross-Serene 's suggestion to use the M21 attire, I managed to figure out Ash's post-Alola outfit/s!

I don’t have much else to say, so let’s talk about why Ash gets a summer job at the ranch-!

Basically, sometime after Ash and Skye return home from Alola, the ranch gets a large extension. But it quickly becomes apparent that the Hunters can’t handle the larger workload, especially Skye (who was trying to “catch up” with his work after being away for so long).

So, the Hunters decide to hire some ranch hands. Ash finds out about this thanks to Tracey (Skye doesn’t tell him about it because he didn’t want to bother him), and heads down to take a job interview. The Hunters aren’t too sure about hiring Ash since he and Skye might uhhhhhh distract each other from their work.

But, they know that Ash is a hard worker who adores Pokémon, and when he says he'll work for just a hot meal and a comfortable place to sleep (which so happens to be far more cheaper than just simply paying him), he's hired. As soon as he found out he was hired, Ash went out and bought overalls to match the ranch aesthetic™️

He takes up residence in Skye's brother's bedroom-turned-guest room.
