To preface this; Skye canonically still has his original arm and I currently don't have plans to change that. but honestly i said the same shit for the gheys moving to alola so :Y...

Had a lil' binge on disability representation videos after beginning the first Percy Jackson book, which led me to think about the "what if Skye lost his arm" concept from months back.

Of course, Skye is already disabled prior to Zacian crushing his arm. His right hand has restricted movement and it causes him chronic pain. He had to learn how to write with his non-dominant hand because his right hand would seize up and be painful if he uses it for too long.

In Greyverse canon, the doctors barely manage to save Skye's hand/lower arm and place a rod into his forearm cuz that shit was ruined. He does recover but his arm is never the same. It is forever notably weaker than his left arm, he can't work out like he used to, and the rod reacts painfully to temperature extremes. Shit sucks.

With such a horrible injury, I thought about the possibility of Skye losing his arm and how he'd live as an amputee. And honestly? I think he'd spend a good chunk of time not having a good time (especially in the immediate aftermath due to Ash leaving, Calyrex drama in the Crown Tundra, and the Darkest Day), but eventually adapts pretty well! To the point that I think he'd prefer not wearing his prosthetic arm, but wears it whenever he feels it's necessary. or to make dark dad jokes lol

Speaking of the prosthetic! The one I designed here isn't anything too special, it just looks kinda futuristic due to me trying to keep within Pokémon's near-future tech. If the Pokémon world has managed to find a way to safely turn monsters into energy to put them into balls that fit into your pocket, the same world can also have great prosthetic technology.
